Production Scheduler in Wylie, Texas at Sanden International (U.S.A.), Inc.

Purpose of this Job:

This job is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that support customer demand, optimize manufacturing resources, and ensure on-time delivery performance. This role analyzes production capacity, material availability, inventory levels, and customer requirements to create effective production plans while responding to changing business conditions. The position serves as a key liaison between Production, Supply Chain, Sales, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to support customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Principle Duties/Essential Functions:

• Develop monthly and daily production schedules based on execution plans, customer orders, forecasts, EDI releases, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.
• Analyze projected customer demand and determine whether current production plans can satisfy requirements.
• Create and maintain production schedules for assigned manufacturing and assembly operations.
• Monitor schedule attainment and implement corrective actions to address deviations from plan.
• Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in customer demand, production capacity, material availability, engineering changes, and operational constraints.
• Ensure production schedules support on-time delivery commitments while maximizing efficiency and minimizing disruption.

Other Tasks/Responsibilities:

Material and Capacity Management

• Perform material shortage analysis and coordinate recovery plans with Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Production teams.
• Identify potential capacity constraints and recommend solutions to maintain production continuity.
• Optimize utilization of labor, equipment, materials, and manufacturing resources.
• Support inventory management objectives by balancing production requirements with inventory investment targets.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to align production plans with business objectives.
• Coordinate production requirements for engineering changes, product conversions, validations, customer samples, and special projects.
• Initiate and process production conversion requests and deviation requests as required.
• Maintain effective communication regarding schedule changes, production risks, and customer impacts.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

• Generate and maintain production performance reports and schedule adherence metrics.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to production planning and inventory control.
• Analyze scheduling performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Production Control, Production Planning, Scheduling, Inventory Control, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with complex scheduling requirements.
• Familiarity with implementation and management of production scheduling processes and inventory control practices.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, production processes, and supply chain operations.
• Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, Bills of Material (BOMs), shop orders, inventory control, and cycle counting procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage changing priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Ability to perform detailed analysis and make sound business decisions under pressure.

Licenses or Certifications:

• APICS/ASCM Certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred.
• MRP planning experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit, type, and work on a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to perform detailed analytical work requiring sustained attention and concentration.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

· PPE may be required based on specific projects.

Work Environment/Hours:

· Primary workstation is located in an office setting and other work environments include manufacturing plant.

· Must work normal office hours plus provide support on evenings and weekend (as needed)
