Licensed Criminal Justice Specialist in Cheektowaga, New York at Endeavor Health

Endeavor Health Services is seeking a full-time Licensed Criminal Justice Specialist to provide counseling, behavioral health support, and care coordination to individuals involved in the criminal justice system. This community-based role focuses on helping individuals address behavioral health and criminogenic needs, successfully navigate reentry, and build the skills and supports necessary to reduce recidivism.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, culturally responsive, collaborative, and comfortable working in community settings. The Criminal Justice Specialist will work alongside an interdisciplinary team and collaborate with probation officers, law enforcement, community providers, and other stakeholders to ensure individuals receive coordinated, person-centered services.

This position involves regular community travel, including visits to individuals' homes, probation offices, and other community locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral health, criminogenic risk, and needs assessments.
• Develop individualized treatment and service plans.
• Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based practices, including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care.
• Provide culturally responsive support related to mental health, substance use, behavioral health, and reentry.
• Coordinate services with interdisciplinary team members, probation, law enforcement, and community providers.
• Help individuals navigate court, probation requirements, and other barriers to successful reentry.
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning when needed.
• Advocate for access to community resources and supportive services.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and records.
• Participate in case conferences, team meetings, community outreach, and education activities.

Qualifications

Required:

• Current New York State professional license, such as LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC.
• Valid New York State driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle for community visits.
• Ability to provide services in accordance with licensing requirements, regulations, and agency policies.
• Strong communication, organization, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365.

Preferred:

• Experience in criminal justice, behavioral health, social services, or reentry services.
• Experience with CBT, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, or community-based services.
• Knowledge of local community resources.
• Personal or lived experience with the criminal justice system is highly valued.
