Cytopreparation Technician in Memphis, Tennessee at Ladgov Corporation

Work schedules will be coordinated based on laboratory coverage needs at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Shifts may include 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM, or 11:30 PM–8:00 AM. Rotating weekends and Federal holiday coverage may be required.

The Cytopreparation Technician will support the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service by preparing clinical specimens for cytologic examination and supporting daily laboratory operations.

• Appropriate experience performing cytopreparation or related laboratory duties.
• Knowledge of safe handling procedures for potentially infectious specimens.
• Ability to perform cytology specimen preparation and basic equipment troubleshooting.
• No professional license or certification is required for this position.

• Receive, identify, accession, and document clinical specimens.
• Prepare specimens using centrifuging, smearing, cell-block preparation, staining, and cover-slipping techniques.
• Monitor slide and specimen preparation quality and correct preparation issues when necessary.
• Clean laboratory equipment and glassware, maintain records, and restock laboratory supplies.
