The role is well suited to an experienced nonprofit fundraising leader who can balance strategic thinking, relationship building, operational execution, and people leadership.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and implement a national strategic plan for peer-to-peer fundraising, establishing short- and long-term priorities that strengthen community engagement and contribute to revenue goals.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the Community Engagement team, including Community Engagement Managers and Specialists, while overseeing hiring, onboarding, performance management, training, and professional development.
  • Partner with senior fundraising leadership to use community event programs as a pipeline for major-gift development, including identifying high-value prospects, engaging sponsors, and cultivating donor relationships.

  • Collaborate with Individual Giving, Congregational Strategy, Marketing, CRM, and broader fundraising leadership teams to integrate fundraising streams, identify cross-selling opportunities, and strengthen donor acquisition.
  • Provide operational leadership for new fundraising product launches, supporting implementation, coordination, and adoption across relevant teams.
  • Consult with community leaders to identify, recruit, and equip volunteers while strengthening relationships with diverse community constituencies.
  • Participate in communications and content review, campaign strategy, and new-product development initiatives related to fundraising events and community partnerships.
  • Use fundraising data, CRM insights, industry practices, and performance results to identify opportunities for innovation, improve processes, and strengthen team and program outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, along with 8–10 years of proven related professional experience and at least five years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff development experience, with a strong track record of managing, coaching, and motivating teams.
  • Expertise in nonprofit peer-to-peer fundraising practices and principles, with experience developing strategies that increase participation, engagement, and revenue.
  • Proven project management capabilities, including the ability to coordinate multiple priorities, stakeholders, projects, and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong public speaking, writing, persuasive communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse constituencies.
  • Strategic and creative problem-solving mindset, with demonstrated ability to innovate, identify opportunities, and translate ideas into effective programs.
  • Experience with CRM systems and data-driven decision-making, combined with strong attention to detail and the ability to use information to guide fundraising strategy.
  • Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated and disciplined in a fully remote environment while also collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Experience working or volunteering in a multicultural, ecumenical, or interfaith environment is required.
