About the Department

Department 706 provides life cycle support services to TRF Kings Bay for OHIO and COLUMBIA class submarines. Primarily focused on facilities management, engineering services, and project management of key infrastructure projects onboard TRFKB which support the existing maintenance mission as well as preparing for the arrival of COLUMBIA. Department 706 at TRFKB is a small but growing team with a startup mentality. Well poised to support a variety of contracts, the team is growing its footprint and influence daily. Providing 5-star service in support of the strategic deterrence mission is our daily goal.

Role overview

Department 706 is growing a multi-discipline group comprised of mechanical, structural, civil, nuclear, electrical engineers and on-site program representatives who will also act as subject matter experts on key COLUMBIA systems. D706 Engineering operates in a collaborative, dynamic, team-oriented manner. Using a design-build approach, D706 interfaces with Operations, Design, Planning Yard, Test, and Program Office personnel to arrive at innovative solutions to difficult problems. Additionally, interaction

with the United States Navy customer is typical, including the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Naval Sea Systems Command, and submarine crews. Tasking will also include directly coordinating with Electric Boat Life Cycle Sustainment engineering and NAVSEA customers to prepare the fleet to receive COLUMBIA class submarines. The COLUMBIA on-site program representative provides direct input into equipment design, logistic supportability, and maintenance integration for COLUMBIA submarines. Additionally, this role also fills D706 Facility Program representative executing functions to include Facility Security Officer and will be responsible for developing and maintaining day-to-day security requirements. This position also acts as liaison between D706 and Trident Refit Facility Kings Bay in furthering on-going support for OHIO submarines under the OMNIBUS contract.

Tasking includes directly coordinating with Electric Boat Life Cycle Sustainment engineering and NAVSEA customers to prepare the fleet to receive COLUMBIAclass submarines. The COLUMBIA onsite program representative provides direct input into equipment design, logistic supportability, and maintenance integration for COLUMBIA submarines. Additionally, this role fills the D706 Facility Program representative position, executing functions such as Facility Security Officer and managing daytoday security requirements. This position further serves as the liaison between D706 and the Trident Refit Facility Kings Bay, supporting OHIO submarines under the OMNIBUS contract.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks required of the D706 on-site program representative include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Meet with key NAVSEA and EB stakeholders in support of COLUMBIA Capability Gap Analysis, Process Improvement Team, Intermediate & Depot Maintenance Equipment Development,

- Facility Security Officer, standing up and maintaining the facility for a Secret Facility Clearance List, including coordinating between D706 and other security personnel for on-base access of vendors and visitors

- Developing a deep knowledge of TRFKB organizational structure to support OMNIBUS contracting efforts

- Coordinating maintenance and necessary improvements to D706 facilities, to include departmental vehicles

Qualifications

Required

· Bachelor's of Science degree OR Retired Navy Submariner with High School Diploma

· Prior submarine operating experience

· 5+ years Naval Physical Security experience

· 5+ years technical drawing interpretation

· Flexibility of schedule; must be able to occasionally work odd hours

· Ability to obtain and maintain active security clearance

Preferred

· Prior experience working in Naval Shipyard or Refit environment

· Experience working in a planning yard, engineering office, or program office

· Familiarity with Trident Refit Facility Kings Bay organizational structure
