Job Description

Description:

Doggett Concrete Construction is a company specializing in concrete construction, particularly focusing on multifamily projects in the Southeastern United States. We place a significant emphasis on maintaining a safe work environment for our employees, subcontractors, and clients. We pride ourselves on building deep relationships with trade partners.

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Concrete Construction Foreman to lead field crews on commercial concrete construction projects. The Foreman is responsible for planning and directing daily field operations, managing crew productivity, maintaining quality and safety standards, and ensuring work is completed according to project drawings, specifications, and schedules.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone with strong experience in commercial concrete construction, including foundations, footings, walls, slabs, and structural concrete. The Foreman will work closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and upcoming work.

The ideal Foreman candidate has:

  • Strong knowledge of commercial concrete forming and construction methods
  • Experience with foundations, footings, walls, slabs, columns, and other structural concrete
  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, architectural drawings, details, and specifications
  • Strong understanding of construction layout, elevations, dimensions, and benchmarks
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure, builder's level, laser, and other common layout equipment
  • Knowledge of reinforcing steel, embeds, anchor bolts, blockouts, and concrete placement procedures
  • Ability to plan work ahead and anticipate manpower, material, equipment, and formwork needs
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage a crew while maintaining production, quality, and safety expectations
  • Dependable, organized, and accountable

Our Foremen are expected to take ownership of their work and their crew.

A successful Foreman does not only focus on what the crew is doing today. They are continually looking ahead to make sure the manpower, materials, forms, equipment, information, and layout are ready for upcoming work.

We expect our Foremen to:

  • Come prepared with a plan for the day's work
  • Understand the drawings and scope before directing the crew
  • Set clear expectations for production and workmanship
  • Hold crew members accountable while treating employees with respect
  • Identify problems early rather than waiting until they affect the schedule
  • Communicate material and equipment needs in advance
  • Protect company tools, equipment, and forming materials
  • Maintain a safe and organized jobsite
  • Communicate effectively with the Superintendent and Project Manager
  • Take pride in the quality and productivity of their crew
  • Help develop the next generation of lead workers and foremen

The Foreman is a key connection between our field employees and project management and plays an important role in the successful completion of every project.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of commercial concrete construction experience preferred
  • Previous experience as a Concrete Foreman, Assistant Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or similar leadership position
  • Clean record and valid driver's license
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with commercial concrete construction
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be capable of completing a Job Specific Physical

This is a full-time opportunity with competitive compensation. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance, paid holidays and a 401(k).
