Role Description
As a Logistics Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient transportation of parts, maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of the company’s vehicle. Key duties include delivering materials to designated locations on time, adhering to traffic laws and company safety regulations, and representing the company positively when interacting with customers and the public.
Responsibilities:
• Able to lift and/or carry auto parts up to 50lbs for delivery.
• Will communicate professionally and effectively with clients as parts are being delivered.
• Carefully loads the delivery truck with parts listed on the manifest for next day delivery.
• Unloads the truck with any returned parts, cores, or rejected parts and places them in the proper areas.
• Will be responsible for any damages done to parts during the loading, unloading, and delivery process.
• Able to use a tablet for the delivery process.
• Must verify with shops that they will accept the parts before leaving.
• Must verify checks with salesman before accepting unless shop is known to Holbrook.
• Takes pictures of parts once it is dropped off at the shop for Holbrook’s records.
• Collect payment from customers who have an open invoice.
• Follows the delivery manifest for best optimization of delivery route on the tablet.
• Able to negotiate prices with customers who have complaints about part(s) with a quality issue.
• Checks in with store manager once route is complete to hand over payment(s) and finalize invoice(s).
• Communicates to yard team members, logistic specialist, and store manager about any delays or cancellations of parts.
• Works directly with logistics specialist about any delivery issues that arise.
• Communicates any issues with delivery truck to yard manager for repair(s).
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Must have an active driver license, preferably a chauffeur’s license
• Product knowledge and the ability to identify automotive parts
• Ability to follow navigation systems and roadways
• Prior cash handling experience is a plus
• Ability to multi task and assign work as needed
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in warehouse/distribution center
• Reliable, punctual and safety-minded, with a strong work ethic
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma/GED equivalent required
• Prior experience driving and making deliveries
• Basic computer knowledge and computer/tablet experience, ability to multi task.
• Experience in the automotive industry is a plus
Work Schedule:
• Monday – Saturday – during normal business operations
