About the Role:
The New Car Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the sales and profitability of new vehicle inventory within a retail automotive dealership. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the new car sales process, from inventory management and pricing strategies to customer engagement and sales team leadership. The manager ensures that sales targets are met or exceeded by developing effective marketing plans, fostering strong relationships with manufacturers, and maintaining a motivated sales team. Additionally, the role involves analyzing market trends and competitor activity to optimize inventory and pricing decisions. Ultimately, the New Car Manager is accountable for delivering an exceptional customer experience while maximizing dealership revenue and growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in automotive sales, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role within new car sales.
- Strong knowledge of automotive products, pricing, and inventory management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop sales staff.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, team members, and manufacturers.
- Familiarity with dealership management systems and sales reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience working with major automotive manufacturers and understanding of manufacturer incentive programs.
- Proficiency in data analysis and market research to inform sales strategies.
- Certification or training in automotive sales management.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive retail environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain new vehicle inventory to ensure optimal stock levels and variety that meet customer demand.
- Develop and implement competitive pricing strategies in collaboration with dealership leadership and manufacturer guidelines.
- Lead, train, and motivate the new car sales team to achieve individual and team sales targets.
- Coordinate with marketing to create promotional campaigns and events that drive showroom traffic and sales.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to continuously improve sales strategies and inventory management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vehicle manufacturers and suppliers to secure favorable terms and incentives.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and dealership policies related to new vehicle sales.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive buying experience.
