Position Summary
-
The Customer Service Cashier is a member of the Registration Team who has been trained to facilitate patient financial assistance by ensuring positive experiences for patients, families, and visitors. Oversees cashier functions, including deposits from multiple areas of the organization, transfer of deposits to banks via courier, accepting patient payments, and assisting with requests regarding patient billing. Operating the computer, maintaining supplies and assisting with the delivery of quality cashier functions.

Core Job Functions
- Accepts cash, checks, debit/credit cards, and digital payments for patient services and co-pays.
- Generates official receipts, balances cash drawers, and reconciles end-of-shift financial totals.
- Answers patient and family questions regarding medical bills, payment plans, and general financial assistance options.
- Accepts and records all deposits from other departments within the hospital campus. Secures all deposits in safe, accurately recording for tracking purposes both in and out to bank courier.
- Prepares daily reports and submit financial summaries to the hospital's accounting or finance department as needed.
