The Budget Analyst III leads budget development and monitoring across departments, owns financial controls, and mentors junior budget analysts.

Responsibilities

• Lead budget development, implementation and monitoring across departments.
• Keep financial work compliant with quality management systems for accuracy and integrity.
• Run detailed variance analysis and forecasting to support decisions.
• Prepare financial reports for senior management on performance, key metrics and variance from budget.
• Identify financial risks, build mitigation strategies, and maintain strong financial controls.
• Mentor and guide junior budget analysts.
• Partner with office leaders and project managers to gather financial data and align budgets with operations.

Required qualifications

• At least 7 years of budget or financial analysis experience.
• Bachelor's degree, or 11 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active SECRET clearance.

Preferred

• Federal budget formulation and execution experience.
• Experience leading or mentoring analysts.
