Electronic Technician II in Tucson, Arizona at Universal Avionics
Job Description
Job Category: Electrical Rework/Repair Technician
Requisition Number: ELECT001532
Oct 28, 2026
Full Time
📍Tucson, AZ | On-site
Find the problem. Understand the why. Make the repair count.
We have decades of trusted avionics behind us. What excites us most is what’s ahead.
We’re looking for an Electronic Technician II who enjoys getting to the bottom of a technical problem. Reading the schematic. Following the signal. Finding the fault. Making the repair. And verifying that everything works the way it should.
You’ll report to our Repair Station Supervisor and work alongside a team that inspects, tests, troubleshoots, modifies, overhauls, and repairs advanced avionics Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).
Your work at the bench supports equipment pilots depend on. Accuracy matters. So does understanding why something failed in the first place.
What You’ll Do
Apply electronic theory to troubleshoot and repair avionics LRUs down to the circuit board level.
Read schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and repair documentation to guide your work.
Use oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and other test equipment to diagnose faults and verify results.
Evaluate the electrical, thermal, and mechanical characteristics of integrated circuits, components, and systems.
Partner with teammates and cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Document testing, findings, and repairs accurately in company systems.
Follow established procedures and quality, safety, and regulatory requirements while helping the team meet delivery commitments.
What Success Looks Like
You approach troubleshooting with a plan. You gather the facts, interpret the results, and work toward the cause.
Your repairs are thorough, your testing is accurate, and your documentation tells the full story.
You know when to work through a problem independently and when to bring in another perspective.
You communicate what you’re finding so the team can solve problems and keep work moving.
You take pride in doing the job well, keep building your technical skills, and share what you learn.
What Matters to Us
You have at least two years of experience in electronic testing, troubleshooting, or manufacturing support.
You have an associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field. Equivalent military training or relevant work experience will also be considered.
You understand analog and digital circuitry and have experience troubleshooting at the component level.
You can read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and engineering documents.
You’re comfortable using electronic test equipment and familiar with automated test systems and data acquisition tools.
You communicate clearly, document carefully, and bring sound judgment and attention to detail to your work.
You’re comfortable with Microsoft Office and learning new software tools.
Experience with ESD handling, IPC-A-610 or IPC-7711/7721 standards, ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality environments, ERP systems, or customer service is a plus. Familiarity with FAA Part 145 repair station regulations is also helpful.
A Few Important Details
This is an on-site, non-exempt role in Tucson, Arizona. The work is performed in a shop environment and includes using your hands and arms, sitting, standing, walking, and communicating. Occasionally, you may need to bend, kneel, crouch, climb, or lift or move up to 25 pounds. The work also requires close visual inspection and the ability to distinguish detail. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
What We Offer
Your benefits start on day one.
You’ll have access to multiple medical plan options, dental and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, 14 paid holidays, tuition and gym reimbursement, wellness resources, employee assistance programs, and more.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
You get the best of both worlds: the agility and connection of a mid-sized company with the resources and global reach of Elbit Systems.
You’ll work with smart people on technology that matters, applying your skills to complex electronic systems and building your knowledge along the way.
Our work helps make aviation safer. You’ll help make sure the equipment behind that work performs the way it should.
✈️ Make It Happen. We Grow Together. Excellence. Innovation.
