Fitness Center Director in Rockville, Maryland at FOCUS HR INC

Aerobodies is seeking an experienced Fitness Center Director to oversee the daily operations of an employee fitness center supporting a federal government agency.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fitness center management, employee wellness programs, fitness assessments, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily fitness center operations, staffing, and scheduling.
• Supervise fitness personnel and ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Conduct fitness assessments and develop individualized exercise programs.
• Lead fitness instruction and wellness activities.
• Maintain fitness equipment, facility safety, and operational standards.
• Support program participation, marketing, and member engagement.

• Bachelor's degree in Health and Fitness Management, Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology, or another accredited fitness-related field.
• Current certification from ACSM, ACE, NSCA, NCCPT, or a qualifying equivalent certifying organization.
• Minimum of 1 year of management and supervisory experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting fitness assessments, developing exercise programs, teaching exercise techniques, and operating fitness facilities.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular training, strength training, flexibility, and general conditioning programs.
• Experience managing staff schedules and maintaining a safe fitness facility.

Work Schedule

Full-time position. Candidates must be available to work one of the following shifts:

• 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM
• 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM

Each shift includes a 30-minute lunch break.
