We're building our core analytics team, and this role sits at the centre of it. You'll report to our CIO and work closely with the CEO and COO, producing the analysis and reporting they use to run the business. Day to day, you'll partner with our Data Engineering Team Lead.
Our stack is Amazon Redshift, dbt and Apache Airflow. AI tools, including Claude, are part of how we work every day.
What you'll do
• Analyse revenue, profitability, trading activity and client behaviour. Explain what you find to senior management in plain terms.
• Build and run dashboards, recurring reports and ad hoc analysis in SQL, Excel and BI tools.
• Track down discrepancies, reconcile figures and validate the metrics the business runs on.
• Turn round urgent executive requests, including hands-on data preparation when the answer can't wait for a pipeline.
• Work with Data Engineering on reporting datasets, business logic and data quality.
• Document how metrics are defined and calculated, and onboard new analysts as the team grows.
What you'll need
• 5+ years in data analysis or BI. You've taken business questions from first ask to a validated answer on your own.
• Advanced SQL: complex joins, CTEs and window functions.
• Hands-on dbt experience. You've built and maintained models in production, with tests and documentation.
• Strong Excel, plus Power BI, Tableau or a similar BI tool.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse.
• Hands-on use of Claude or similar AI tools for SQL, analysis and reporting, and the judgement to check their output.
• Confidence with senior stakeholders. You can agree priorities when requests compete.
Nice to have: brokerage or financial services experience; Redshift or Git; mentoring analysts.
Why this role
Your work goes straight to the executive team. You'll help define the metrics the business is run on. And with the analytics team still taking shape, you'll set how it works as it grows.
