Wing Scheduler in Ellsworth, South Dakota at Adams Communication & Engineering Technology, Inc.
Job Description
Company Overview:
Adams Communication & Engineering Technology (ACET), Incorporated is a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) system engineering and information technology firm. Incorporated in 1999, we support mission critical Information Technology (IT) business needs for clients within the intelligence community (IC), Department of Defense (DOD), Veteran Administration (VA) and for select commercial clients. ACET, Inc.’s technical, programmatic, and analytical professionals are experts in commercial technology, customized solutions, and proprietary government systems.
The Position:
ACET is hiring a Wing Scheduler to support the 2d Bomb Wing and 2d Operations Group at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana. The 2d Bomb Wing operates the B-52H.
This position supports Wing Scheduling for the 2d Operations Group. The qualifications are the same as for a squadron aircrew scheduler, but the focus shifts from individual aircrew requirements to unit-level planning: the long-range flying program, tanker prioritization, agile combat employment operations, and alignment with the Air Force Reserve Command associate unit that flies the B-52H alongside the 2d Bomb Wing. The position also builds and delivers a long-range scheduling system the Group can sustain on its own.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive long-range scheduling system covering, at a minimum, the prioritization of tankers and agile combat employment operations.
- Collaborate with operational units to align long-term mission planning with Operations Group objectives.
- Optimize resources and maintain strategic alignment with tenant and associate units, including Air Force Reserve Command and Air National Guard units, and with AFGSC goals.
- Analyze historical mission data to improve future planning.
- Generate detailed reports for Operations Group leadership to inform decision-making.
- Train Operations Group personnel on the long-range scheduling system and conduct knowledge transfer so the Group gains proficiency with the capability.
- Coordinate with squadron schedulers, outside agencies, and higher headquarters on exercise and special event scheduling, including RED FLAG, GREEN FLAG, and Weapons School support taskings.
- Update Patriot Excalibur (PEX) and locally developed database systems, and publish long-range and short-range flying, simulator, and ground training schedules.
- Obtain aircraft and equipment availability from maintenance and incorporate it into unit-level schedules.
- Attend Special Use Airspace, Airspace Restrictions, and Range Scheduling meetings for coordination and deconfliction.
- Provide inputs to Wing Scheduling products, including the daily Supervisor of Flying and Top 3 schedules.
Qualifications:
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access the airfield and military installation.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working as a squadron aircrew scheduler.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience with PEX or a similar proprietary scheduling program.
