Reports To: Lab Supervisor
Position Type: Seasonal, Full-Time
Season Dates: ASAP through November 3, 2026
The Seasonal Quality Control Lab Technician supports Summit Seed Coatings' quality assurance efforts by conducting laboratory testing, collecting and analyzing samples, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring products meet established quality standards. This role works closely with production and laboratory staff to support efficient operations during our busy season while helping maintain product quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities- Perform routine quality control testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Collect, prepare, and evaluate samples according to established procedures.
- Accurately record and maintain laboratory test results and quality documentation.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Assist with monitoring production quality and identifying potential quality concerns.
- Communicate testing results and quality observations to laboratory and production personnel.
- Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and work areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of laboratory supplies and testing materials.
- Support investigations into quality issues and assist with corrective actions when needed.
- Assist with data entry and reporting activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Work collaboratively with production, quality, and plant leadership teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support laboratory and production operations.
- $18.00 per hour
- Eligible for overtime as business needs require
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous laboratory, quality control, manufacturing, agricultural, or seed industry experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in both laboratory and production environments.
- Manual dexterity to handle small seed samples and laboratory equipment.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks as needed.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Demonstrates dependability, punctuality, and accountability.
- Maintains a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.
- Communicates respectfully and professionally with coworkers and supervisors.
