Expeditor/Food Runner in Berkley, Michigan at Slows Bar BQ

The Expediter is responsible for the accurate plating and presentation of our menu items. It is the Expediter’s responsibility to work collaboratively with the cooks to ensure the highest quality standards and presentation.Essential Duties Develop and maintain professional working relationships with Slows restaurant employeesKnowledge of key terminology, abbreviations and methodologiesHave full knowledge of menu items and proper food presentationProperly manage times while monitoring how long meals have been waiting to be servedClean and clear passManaging the timely flow of meal orders from the kitchen to the dining roomDemonstrate and comply with Slows uniform and appearance standards per SOP guidelinesHave knowledge of promotions and specialsCommunication professionally with management, floor and kitchen staffMaintain a clean and stocked work areaAccurate, clean and neat bagging of carryout ordersOther job duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsAt least 18 years old or older.Ability to read, and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.Basic math skills and the ability to problem solve.Previous restaurant experience preferred.Organization skills.Time management, and the ability to work in high pressure situations.Create and support an environment of teamwork by helping out in other areas as needed.Physical DemandsStanding and walking majority of shift.Reach, bend, stoop, lift, carrylift carry and push various items.Frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, and meat, poultry, seafood and produce items.Frequently washing hands. Requirements: At least 18 years old Previous restaurant experience preferred Excellent time management, organizational, and problem solving skills Team player - assist where needed Job requires standing, walking, and carrying trays during majority of shift. Slows Bar Bq opened in Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood, in 2005. 20 years later Slows operates that original flagship location, Carryout & Catering restaurant Slows To Go in Detroit's Midtown, as well as Slows Bar Bq Ann Arbor and Slows Bar Bq Berkley. Slows also has a food truck and runs gameday stands inside Ford Field, Comerica Park, and Little Caesars Arena.
