Director of Residential Operations in Jersey City, New Jersey at Hudson Milestones

Hudson Milestones is seeking a strategic, mission-driven Director of Residential Operations to provide leadership for a high-impact department supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

This key leadership role oversees program quality, licensing compliance, daily operations, and staff performance through management across multiple residential sites in Hudson County. The Director of Residential Operations plays a central role in strengthening systems, driving accountability, supporting team development, and advancing compassionate, person-centered care.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee daily operations
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Manage budgets, staffing, and quality improvement systems
• Collaborate with internal departments
• Partner with families, guardians, and care teams to support individual needs and service goals
• Maintain a visible, professional presence in residential programs by engaging with individuals served, observing service delivery, and supporting staff in real-time.
• Support crisis response, incident review, and corrective action planning when needed
• Identify and develop referral opportunities for individuals who may benefit from residential services
• Lead, coach, and inspire a dedicated team

Position Details:

Salary Range

$75k-$85K Annually

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in residential programs for individuals with developmental disabilities
• 5+ years of supervisory experience, including managerial or administrative work
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Solid computer proficiency and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Valid NJ Driver’s License
