L.L. Blue Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our Engineering and Operations team. This is a mid level engineering position responsible for independently performing electrical engineering assignments while supporting multiple projects.
The Electrical Engineer II will design, analyze, and troubleshoot electrical systems while collaborating with project managers, controls engineers, and field personnel. The position is hybrid, with work performed at our headquarters, remotely, and at client sites as needed.
What you'll do• Design electrical power, instrumentation, and control systems for industrial facilities
• Prepare electrical drawings, calculations, specifications, and engineering documentation
• Develop single line diagrams, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and equipment schedules
• Perform equipment sizing and electrical load calculations
• Coordinate engineering activities with project managers, controls engineers, and field personnel
• Review vendor drawings, equipment submittals, and technical documentation
• Support field installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, client standards, and company quality requirements
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and technical coordination
• Mentor entry level engineers as needed
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required
• 3 to 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and engineering principles
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications
• Experience preparing engineering calculations and technical documentation
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• AutoCAD Electrical experience required
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards
• OSHA 10
• EIT certification preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to travel periodically to project and client sites
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required
• Background check and drug screening as required by the client
