Job Description

The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for implementing an ISO 9001 compliant Quality Management System (QMS) with a future transition to AS9100. This role leads QMS certification activities, ensure adherence to internal and external quality standards, and proactively identifies and mitigates quality risks, including those related to supplier quality. The Senior Quality Manager drives corrective and preventive actions, oversees daily quality operations, and provides leadership and development to quality personnel while supporting operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve systems and processes required for QMS certification in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Conduct and oversee supplier quality evaluations, reviews, and audits.
  • Build, staff, and develop the Quality department to support business growth.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering to resolve product and process issues.
  • Manage daily quality operations including inspections, documentation control, and nonconformance management.
  • Lead investigations into quality issues and oversee root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Develop, track, and analyze key quality performance metrics; identify improvement opportunities.
  • Perform quality contract reviews; provide feedback and recommendations related to risk or compliance concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and customer requirements.
  • Participate in cross-functional process and product improvement projects.
  • Support and deliver training related to quality processes and standards.

Schedule:

Albers Aerospace operates on a standard 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on workload demands and critical timelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive experience with quality management systems and auditing; leading QMS implementation and certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience within aerospace, defense, robotics, or advanced manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of inspection techniques and quality tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a U.S citizen.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Working Conditions

  • Onsite position with exposure to both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Hybrid work may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
  • Ability to manage peak workloads and tight deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
