Description
Are you a hands-on operator who takes pride in precision and safety? The DeLong Co. is looking for a Custom Applicator to safely, accurately, and efficiently apply fertilizer and crop protection products to customers' fields — while building strong relationships and promoting proper product use.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Custom Applicator, you'll operate application equipment to deliver fertilizer and chemical products according to blend sheet specifications, while promoting proper crop protection practices and building strong customer relationships along the way.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Responsible for accurate application of fertilizer and/or chemicals per blend sheet specifications
• Maintain and repair equipment according to maintenance schedule, policies and procedures
• Communicate with managers and sales staff to assure safe, accurate, quality, efficient and timely application
• Work in any area of operation or production as assigned
• Interact with customers in a professional manner
• Supervise drivers in product transfer operations
• Work safely, following safety rules, regulations and PPE requirements
• Exhibit attitude and actions consistent with company policies
• Bring attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership to your work and application equipment
• Support sales to new and existing customers

Requirements
WHAT YOU BRING
Education: High school diploma or equivalent and basic math skills
Qualifications:
• Agricultural background
• CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred (we'll help you get licensed!)
• Applicator's license preferred (we'll train you to get licensed!)
• Chemical application experience and education preferred
• Good driving record
• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Ability to lift 75 lbs.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Ability to work 40-50 hours a week, and longer during peak seasons
