Position Overview
GPT Renewables is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Minnesota Licensed Master Electrician to support a 0.6 MW ground-mount solar project in East Grand Forks, Minnesota.

This is a short-term project expected to consist of approximately 1012 working days. The primary scope of work will include wiring solar modules, assisting with wire management, and supporting other electrical installation activities. Some inverter-related work may also be required based on project needs.

Project Size: 0.6 MW Ground-Mount Solar
Pay Rate: $44.80/hour
Fringe Benefit Rate: $32.19/hour
Total Hourly Package: $76.99/hour
Per Diem: $150.00 per workday
Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical work on a 0.6 MW ground-mount solar installation.

  • Wire and connect solar PV modules in accordance with project drawings and specifications.

  • Route, secure, and organize DC wiring throughout the solar array.

  • Assist with wire management to ensure cables are properly supported, protected, and installed.

  • Support inverter-related electrical work as required by the project.

  • Read and follow electrical drawings, layouts, and project specifications.

  • Inspect electrical installations and identify potential installation or quality issues.

  • Work safely around active solar construction operations and electrical equipment.

  • Coordinate with project leadership and other field personnel to complete work efficiently.

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.

  • Follow company safety requirements, OSHA standards, PPE requirements, and all jobsite-specific safety procedures.

  • Participate in required safety meetings and toolbox talks.

  • Perform additional electrical duties as needed to support project completion.

Qualifications

  • Active Minnesota Master Electrician license required.

  • Previous electrical construction experience required.

  • Solar PV or ground-mount solar experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience with module wiring, DC electrical systems, wire management, and solar electrical installation preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and layouts.

  • Knowledge of applicable National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and safe electrical work practices.

  • Ability to safely use electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

  • Dependable attendance and ability to work the full 1012 working-day project duration.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and active construction environments.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
