We're seeking an experienced Head of Modern Trade & Marketplaces to lead the commercial strategy and execution across Mexico's most strategic modern retail accounts, including Walmart, Sam's Club, and Costco.
This executive leadership role is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, strengthening key customer relationships, leading Joint Business Planning initiatives, and ensuring best-in-class execution across pricing, assortment, promotions, visibility, and category development.
The ideal candidate is a strategic commercial leader with deep experience in FMCG, consumer goods, beverages, or spirits, who combines strong analytical capabilities with exceptional relationship management and negotiation skills.What You'll Do
Commercial Strategy & Growth
• Develop and execute the commercial strategy for Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, and other strategic modern trade accounts.
• Drive sustainable revenue growth, distribution expansion, and market share across key product categories.
• Identify new business opportunities and implement growth initiatives aligned with company objectives.
Customer Relationship Management
• Build long-term strategic partnerships with senior customer stakeholders.
• Lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) initiatives to maximize mutual business growth.
• Position the company as a preferred strategic partner within assigned retail accounts.
Commercial Execution
• Ensure flawless execution of assortment, pricing strategies, promotional calendars, and visibility initiatives.
• Drive Perfect Store standards and category excellence across all assigned customers.
• Monitor commercial performance and optimize execution plans based on market insights.
Cross-Functional Leadership
• Partner closely with Marketing, Finance, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, and Distributor teams.
• Align commercial initiatives with operational capabilities and long-term business objectives.
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful execution.
Business Analytics & Performance
• Analyze customer, market, and sales data to identify opportunities and risks.
• Develop executive presentations, dashboards, and performance reports.
• Make data-driven recommendations to improve commercial performance and profitability.What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Commercial Leadership, Key Account Management, or Modern Trade within FMCG, Consumer Goods, Beverage, or Spirits industries.
• Proven experience managing national retail accounts such as Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, or similar strategic customers.
• Strong commercial negotiation experience with responsibility for revenue growth and customer profitability.
• Experience leading Joint Business Planning (JBP) initiatives.
• Strong analytical capabilities, including reporting, dashboards, financial analysis, and commercial performance management.
• Experience managing trade investments and commercial budgets.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, matrixed organizations while balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1/C2).
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience within alcoholic beverages, spirits, wine, or highly regulated consumer goods industries.
• Experience working with distributors and indirect commercial structures.
• Knowledge of Revenue Growth Management (RGM), Category Management, and Perfect Store methodologies.
