Position Profile
Working independently under the general direction of the Information Systems Security Manager, the Identity & Directory Services Administrator is responsible for administering, maintaining, and securing enterprise identity platforms and directory services within Hospice of the Valley. This role is primarily focused on identity and access management but will also support broader systems administration and IT operational functions as needed. The position requires balancing security priorities with operational responsibilities, working collaboratively across security and IT teams to maintain secure and reliable infrastructure.

- Systems Administration & Operational Support (Secondary Responsibilities).
- Strong understanding of identity and access management principles.
- Ability to balance security requirements with operational needs.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across identity and authentication systems.
- Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in identity management, directory services, or systems administration.
- Experience administering Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID.
- Familiarity with authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
- Working knowledge of security best practices, including least privilege and MFA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
- Experience with Conditional Access and identity governance tools.
- Knowledge of HIPAA or regulated healthcare environments.
- Familiarity with privileged access management (PAM) solutions.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft SC-300, Security+ – preferred but not required).
