Greater Seacoast Health | Somersworth & Portsmouth, NH
🧠 Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor
💵$42.22-49.31 per hour, based on licensed experience
🕒 40 hours a week
💙 Benefits eligible
The first five years of a child's life shapes everything that follows.
At Greater Seacoast Health, we're looking for an Early Childhood Mental Health and Development Specialist who wants to make those years count; supporting young children, strengthening caregiver-child relationships, and helping families get the support they need as early as possible.
Working as part of the Behavioral Health team in an integrated care setting, you will provide early childhood mental health and development assessment, (birth through six) intervention and caregiver support and consultation. You will partner with medical providers to implement the evidence based Zero to Three Healthy Steps model
This is a role where behavioral health and primary care truly come together.
💙 What You'll Do
You'll work directly with young children and families while also helping our care teams identify developmental and family needs earlier.
Your work will include:
- Assessing the development and needs of children ages birth to age 8
- Providing intervention strategies, caregiver education, and support
- Supporting healthy caregiver-child relationships
- Assessing and supporting caregivers experiencing perinatal mental health conditions
- Providing early childhood mental health intervention using evidence-based, trauma-informed relational-development principles
- Connecting families with services and resources and following up on referrals
- Using standardized developmental, mental health and family screening tools
- Helping primary care teams strengthen developmental screening practices
- Collaborating with Primary Care, Social Work, and Behavioral Health
- Supporting pediatric quality-improvement efforts helping track outcomes and data associated with program and grant requirements
👶 Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a clinician who understands that supporting a young child often means supporting the entire family.
You'll be a great fit if you bring strong clinical and assessment skills, communicate well, listen closely, and approach children and families with compassion and without judgment.
Experience working with diverse or vulnerable populations and familiarity with the systems that serve young children and families are especially valuable.
🎓 What You'll Need
Required:
- Master's degree from an accredited university in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
- Active, unencumbered New Hampshire license to practice Independent Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
- At least 2 years of experience working with children within your licensed scope of practice
