Dakota Steel and Trim, Inc. is seeking to add an Estimator to our sales team. We are a regional roll forming manufacturer with locations in Canton, South Dakota and Freeport, Minnesota. Family-owned since 1992, Dakota Steel and Trim was the first privately owned incorporated roll former in South Dakota.

This is a work from home position, and you will be responsible for maintaining a separate working area in your home free of distraction and potential hazards. Dakota Steel and Trim will provide you with office supplies: computer, monitors, and a cell phone or cell phone allowance.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:

• Be part of an established and growing estimating team by helping to create processes, evaluate and implement a software solution.
• Create take-offs and estimates for current customer lumberyards and distributors while maintaining relationships and meeting company goals.
• Communicate with customers external and internal via phone and email. Make outbound calls to gather data, communicate and help follow-up with requests.
• Provide product knowledge and training to customers and sales department as needed.
• Ensure that customer and sales employees’ issues, inquiries, and needs are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.

• Meticulous with strong organizational skills
• Disciplined and self-directed
• Strong relationship building and people skills.
• Able to manage conflict.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Job Requirements:

• 10+ yrs. experience in the building materials industry
• Sales and estimating experience in metal roofing products is required.
• Travel with overnight stays for sales meetings or training sessions a couple times a year.
• Able to office at home.
