Job Description

About the Role:

The Pool Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable swimming environment for all guests and residents. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pool area, monitoring pool usage to enforce safety rules, and providing excellent customer service to visitors. The Pool Attendant will conduct routine inspections of pool equipment and facilities to identify and report any maintenance needs promptly. Additionally, this role involves assisting guests with inquiries and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Ultimately, the Pool Attendant contributes to a positive recreational experience by fostering a welcoming and secure atmosphere around the pool.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor pool area to ensure safety rules and regulations are followed by all guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the pool deck, surrounding areas, and pool water by performing regular cleaning and chemical testing.
  • Assist guests with pool-related inquiries and provide information about pool hours, rules, and available amenities.
  • Conduct routine inspections of pool equipment and facilities, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns to management.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies or incidents in accordance with established safety protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a customer service role, preferably in a recreational or hospitality environment.
  • Basic knowledge of pool maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Pool Attendant or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with Canadian health and safety regulations related to aquatic facilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.

Skills:

The Pool Attendant uses strong observational skills daily to monitor guest behavior and ensure compliance with safety standards, preventing accidents and maintaining a secure environment. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with guests, explaining rules, and coordinating with team members and management. Attention to detail is critical when performing cleaning duties and conducting chemical tests to maintain water quality and hygiene. Problem-solving skills enable the attendant to respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations. Additionally, customer service skills help create a welcoming atmosphere, enhancing the overall guest experience at the pool facility.

Work Environment Considerations: Standing for extended periods and supporting the operation during days, weekends, and holidays, as part of delivering exceptional guest experiences.
