The Engineering and Construction Supervisor leads field execution for new transmission facilities, modifications, and maintenance projects.
You will oversee contractor teams ranging from approximately 20 to more than 100 personnel on projects valued at up to $20 million.
The role combines onsite construction management, safety and quality oversight, scheduling, budget awareness, and stakeholder coordination.
You will ensure contractors follow engineering specifications, drawings, operating procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
The position also provides opportunities to mentor construction engineering talent and influence constructability and project execution strategies.
Success requires strong leadership, communication, adaptability, and the ability to resolve field issues before they affect safety, cost, quality, or schedule.
The role may involve extended out-of-town assignments, shift work, overtime, and storm-related call-outs depending on project needs.

• Provide onsite field management and coordination for electric transmission construction projects.
• Manage contractor personnel and construction activities for projects involving approximately 20 to 100+ workers.
• Oversee contractor execution on construction contracts valued at up to $20 million.
• Mentor and support Construction Engineers in their professional and technical development.
• Establish, evaluate, and maintain jobsite safety and quality control procedures.
• Conduct and document safety and quality audits, addressing deficiencies as required.
• Monitor daily construction activities, including manpower, equipment, tools, materials, and site requirements.
• Interpret and communicate project specifications, drawings, and construction instructions to contractors.
• Verify contractor compliance with approved specifications, drawings, procedures, and project requirements.
• Facilitate regular construction progress meetings covering safety, quality, schedule, scope, and budget.
• Prepare and maintain progress documentation and reports for project stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve safety concerns, cost overruns, schedule delays, and other construction issues.
• Evaluate and manage construction-related change requests.
• Perform constructability reviews of specifications and drawings to support efficient use of materials, resources, and construction techniques.
• Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers with development of critical path schedules and realistic construction activity sequencing.
• Conduct detailed pre-mobilization assessments covering materials, construction access, restoration requirements, construction methods, and jobsite security.
• Administer job working rules, workman’s protection assurance requirements, OSHA and environmental regulations, and applicable operating procedures.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, contractors, property representatives, and other parties involved in construction activities.
• Provide public relations support and act as a liaison between relevant parties during construction work conducted on company property.
• Respond to storm-related and other project needs requiring call-out or overtime support.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Seven or more years of experience in project construction or project leadership.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Previous supervisory, team leadership, or contractor management experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with project construction schedules and critical path planning.
• Experience managing large contractor teams and complex construction activities.
• Strong understanding of construction safety, quality control, and field management practices.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, construction drawings, and technical instructions.
• Knowledge of OSHA, environmental requirements, job working rules, and workman’s protection assurance practices.
• Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving construction, schedule, cost, and quality issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-management abilities when working with contractors, engineers, project leaders, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to changing project conditions and priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a field-based construction environment.
• Willingness to work on out-of-town projects for periods of one year or longer when required.
• Flexibility to work shifts and overtime, including call-outs related to storms and other project requirements.
• Successful completion of the required First Line Supervisor Test with a recommended status following preliminary application review.
• Ability to participate in additional selection activities, including interviews and potential aptitude or skill-based assessments.

• Base salary range of $111,100 to $172,200.
