Position Purpose

As one of the first points of contact for many guests, the Bartender is responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience through outstanding beverage service while also supporting box office and concession operations as business needs require. This position is cross-trained to assist with ticket sales, concessions, merchandise, and guest inquiries, ensuring efficient operations and exceptional hospitality throughout the theater. Bartenders maintain the highest standards of product quality, guest service, safety, and professionalism while supporting overall theater operations.

Job Requirements/Skills

• Provide exceptional guest service while creating a welcoming, fun, and professional atmosphere for every guest.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company recipes, quality standards, and all applicable liquor laws.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, specialty beverages, food offerings, and current promotions.
• Verify guest identification and ensure responsible alcohol service in compliance with all local, state, and company regulations.
• Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and point-of-sale (POS) systems while maintaining proper cash accountability.
• Provide full-service bartender hospitality at the bar and tables including greeting guests, taking orders, preparing beverages, checking back with guests, and processing payments.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, patio, lobby seating areas, and bartender workstations throughout each shift.
• Set up, stock, and break down the bar according to company standards. Same duties for concession stand when needed.
• Suggestively sell food, beverages, merchandise, and promotional offerings to enhance the guest experience.
• Assist with concessions and box office operations during slower business periods or as directed by management.
• Sell movie tickets while accurately processing ticket purchases, exchanges, refunds, and voids in accordance with company procedures.
• Prepare and serve concession items including popcorn, candy, fountain beverages, coffee beverages, desserts, milkshakes, and other concession products.
• Maintain working knowledge of concession products, allergy information, dietary restrictions, and menu offerings.
• Maintain concession and bar inventory by restocking products, rotating inventory, notifying management of low stock levels, and ensuring product freshness and presentation.
• Operate bar and concession equipment safely and ensure all areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.
• Answer guest phone calls professionally and assist with questions regarding movies, ticketing, promotions, menu items, and general theater information.
• Assist guests with online ticket purchases, website accessibility concerns, and other guest service needs.
• Sell gift cards, RoadHouse merchandise and seasonal promotional items.
• Monitor department cleanliness and ensure all bar and concession equipment is clean, operational, and properly maintained.
• Review restroom cleanliness throughout each shift and report or address issues as needed.
• Complete assigned opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities.
• Work collaboratively with Servers, Runners, Kitchen staff, and other departments to provide a seamless guest experience.
• Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and sense of urgency while delivering exceptional guest service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

• Basic math knowledge.
• Previous bartender experience.
• Must obtain Title 4 certification/eTips and Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire.
• Must 19 years of age or older.

Overtime Notice: This position is employed by a motion picture theater. Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), employees of motion picture theater establishments are exempt from federal overtime requirements. As a result, employees in this position are not entitled to overtime premium pay (1.5× the regular rate) for hours worked over 40 in a workweek. Employees will be paid their applicable regular rate for all hours worked.
