Program Aide in Glen Ridge, New Jersey at MONTCLAIR CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER

This position is located at our site at Baldwin Street in Glen Ridge, NJ.
Shares responsibility for all classrooms, working collaboratively with the teacher and assistant teacher, and other staff members to achieve positive outcomes in children; provides support and coverage in the classroom during planning time, meal time, or as required; provides substitute coverage when necessary; assists in carrying out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement educational objectives and Performance Standards.

Duties:

Assist in carrying out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement educational objectives and Performance Standards.
Follows the daily schedule.
Maintains visual line of sight for all children at all times.
Ensures that children are safe at all times: in the classroom, on the playground while toileting and sleeping.
Assists in setting up or cleaning up after the children’s activities.
Participates in family-style dining as directed by the teacher or assistant during meal times..
May assist, as directed by the teacher, with children requiring additional support.

Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
Previous experience with children from infants to 5 years old.
Intention to further education in early childhood.

Physical:
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., occasionally.
Able to stand for long periods of time, walk, run, bend, stoop, and sit on the floor.

Other requirements:
Must be able to use the computer to complete online training, record work time, read and respond to emails, and upload documents.
Successfully complete criminal, child abuse, sex offender background checks, provide health clearance, including tuberculosis clearance, and references.
