Location: Collinsville, TX
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour depending on experience

Join Patterson Professional Services, an Inframark company, as a Water Meter Technician and help support reliable water service in the communities we serve. In this field-based role, you’ll follow assigned routes to read residential and commercial water meters, accurately record usage information, and identify potential leaks or other service issues.
If you enjoy working independently, staying active, and spending your workday outdoors, this could be a great opportunity to build experience in the utility industry. Previous meter-reading experience isn’t required.
What You’ll Do
- Follow assigned routes to accurately read and record residential and commercial water meters
- Use handheld devices or mobile applications to record meter readings and field information
- Identify and report unusual readings, potential leaks, damaged meters, tampering, and other service issues
- Perform meter rereads, service verification, and other basic field assignments as needed
- Safely operate a company vehicle while traveling assigned routes
- Follow company safety procedures while working outdoors and navigating common field conditions
What You’ll Bring
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in utilities, meter reading, construction, maintenance, public works, or other outdoor field work preferred, but not required
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when needed
- Ability to travel overnight and out of town when needed

What the Work Is Like
This is an active, outdoor role that requires extended walking and standing, frequent entry and exit from a vehicle, bending and working at ground level, and navigating uneven terrain. Employees must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Occasional out-of-town travel and overnight stays may be required. Employees may also be assigned to emergency response requiring nights, weekends, holidays, or extended hours.
