Senior Google Cloud Security Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Google Cloud Security Consultant based in the United States.

This role is a senior consulting and technical leadership position focused on helping enterprise clients design, secure, and operationalize Google Cloud environments at scale. You will act as both a cloud security architect and trusted advisor, translating complex security, compliance, and operational requirements into robust, scalable cloud security programs. The position involves leading engagements across architecture design, security assessments, and modernization initiatives within Google Cloud ecosystems. You will work directly with client executives and technical teams to identify risks, define remediation strategies, and improve overall security maturity. This is a highly client-facing role combining strategic advisory, hands-on technical expertise, and delivery leadership. You will also contribute to building reusable frameworks, methodologies, and best practices across cloud security engagements. The environment is fast-paced, consulting-driven, and focused on solving complex enterprise cybersecurity challenges.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead Google Cloud security architecture design and reviews across IAM, networking, workload protection, data protection, logging, monitoring, and compliance domains.
  • Advise enterprise clients on cloud security strategy aligned with regulatory requirements, business risk, and operational priorities.
  • Conduct cloud security posture assessments to identify misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, control gaps, and architectural weaknesses.
  • Develop executive-level deliverables including risk findings, remediation roadmaps, and security maturity improvement plans.
  • Implement and operationalize Security Command Center (including SCC Enterprise), integrating findings into SOC, SIEM, and risk workflows.
  • Advise on Google SecOps, SIEM modernization, detection engineering, and cloud-native security operations strategies.
  • Support SIEM migration and modernization initiatives, including telemetry strategy, log management, and alert optimization.
  • Guide customers in designing secure Google Cloud environments and adopting scalable cloud-native security architectures.
  • Provide expertise on CNAPP/CSPM tools (e.g., Wiz) for vulnerability management, attack path analysis, and entitlement risk reduction.
  • Advise on securing AI and Vertex AI workloads, including identity, access control, data governance, and monitoring.
  • Own technical delivery workstreams from discovery through implementation, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and timelines.
  • Create architecture diagrams, assessments, roadmaps, implementation guides, and reusable security frameworks.
  • Mentor consultants and contribute to capability development across the cloud security practice.
  • Support executive briefings, client workshops, and technical governance discussions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and standardized delivery methodologies.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of cybersecurity consulting experience, including at least 2+ years specifically focused on Google Cloud environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Google Cloud security architecture, including IAM, networking, data protection, logging, and compliance design.
  • Proven experience delivering cloud security posture assessments and enterprise-scale modernization programs.
  • Experience implementing or operating Google Cloud Security Command Center or equivalent cloud-native security platforms.
  • Familiarity with SIEM systems, SOC operations, detection engineering, and security telemetry strategies.
  • Experience working within regulated environments (e.g., FedRAMP, HIPAA, PCI, FISMA, CMMC, HITRUST).
  • Strong understanding of CNAPP/CSPM tools and cloud security frameworks.
  • Ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder technical engagements in enterprise environments.
  • Strong consulting mindset with the ability to move between strategy, architecture, and hands-on delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to executive audiences and guide technical teams.
  • Strong documentation and analytical skills for producing architecture artifacts, reports, and roadmaps.
  • Relevant Google Cloud certifications such as Professional Cloud Security Engineer or equivalent strongly preferred.
Benefits:
  • Annual salary range of $94,000 – $163,000, depending on experience, location, and qualifications.
  • Remote work flexibility with up to 25% travel required for client engagements.
  • Competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and insurance coverage.
  • Paid parental leave and flexible time-off policies.
  • Certification, training, and professional development reimbursement programs.
  • Mental health and wellbeing support resources.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge Google Cloud security and enterprise transformation projects.
  • Exposure to advanced security technologies including SIEM, CNAPP, and AI security frameworks.
  • Collaborative consulting environment focused on knowledge sharing and professional growth.
