JOB DESCRIPTION

The Room Attendant supports the Housekeeping Department by cleaning and servicing guest rooms to ensure a pleasant, comfortable, and welcoming experience for guests at Angler’s Hotel – Miami Beach. This role is responsible for maintaining clean, orderly, and fully serviced guest rooms while responding to guest needs in a courteous and professional manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

  • Greet guests and respond to housekeeping-related requests and questions in a courteous manner.
  • Change bed linens and make beds according to hotel standards.
  • Replace used towels and replenish bathroom amenities, including shampoo and soap.
  • Sweep and mop floors as needed.
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and room surfaces.
  • Empty trash containers and ashtrays.
  • Restock beverages and food items in the minibar as required.
  • Clean public areas such as corridors when assigned.
  • Report technical issues, maintenance needs, damages, or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
  • Update the status of guest rooms on the assignment sheet.
  • Return and restock the cleaning cart at the end of each shift.
  • Follow hotel security guidelines and housekeeping procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist housekeeping staff during high occupancy periods.
  • Support housekeeping supervisors with operational tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to hotel grooming standards.
  • Participate in team briefings and shift pass-on communications.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • High School degree, GED or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Room Attendant, Housekeeper, or in a similar hotel role preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations.
  • Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
  • Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic English communication skills required; Spanish preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, push, and pull during housekeeping tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry items as needed throughout the shift, including lifting 25–35 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers, reach with arms and hands, and handle housekeeping supplies and equipment.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb.

Work Environment

  • Hospitality environment with occasional guest interaction.
  • Fast-paced operational setting requiring physical activity and attention to detail.
  • Work performed indoors with occasional outdoor exposure depending on operational needs.
  • May involve exposure to ongoing construction and various weather conditions.
  • Noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
