ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The GSKWR Mental Wellness Initiative is a prevention-focused program designed to strengthen protective factors for girls in rural Eastern Kentucky through structured mental wellness skill-building experiences. By embedding age-appropriate coping strategies, emotional literacy development, and peer connection into Girl Scout programming, the initiative intentionally increases girls’ Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs).
- Engage 160 girls in grades 2-5 in Girl Scout Mental Wellness skill-building activities.
- Deliver 16 Mental Wellness 1.5 – 2 hour sessions at the Girl Scout Program Center located at the Ashland Town Mall Center.
- Girls will earn 1-4 Girl Scout Mental Wellness skill-building badges/patches.
- Assess program impact and refine content.
Other:
- Project a positive and professional image of Girl Scouting.
- Provide and ensure professional, superior customer service to all internal and external customers, members, volunteers, staff and other community contacts.
- Ensure absolute security and confidentiality of all Council records and maintain professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Promote and support Council programs.
- Adhere to all Council policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned to meet the Council's goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- At least 21 years of age required.
- College degree preferred. High school graduate required.
- Experience in after-school program delivery helpful.
- Superior customer service and people skills.
- Ability to recruit, motivate, create excitement, and work well with diverse populations of children between K-5th grade.
- Ability to interact professionally with school administrators and the community.
- Excellent judgment, with the ability to manage time, work independently, and handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Maintain a high standard of professional appearance and behavior.
Physical/Mental Essential Requirements:
- Travel as the as the job requires to various elementary schools in assigned areas/schools.
- Maintain valid driver's license with appropriate insurance.
- Pass background and motor vehicle checks.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, set up work-related supplies and/or equipment weighing at least 35 pounds.
- Ability to stand on feet for a long period of time.
- Full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterityand eye-hand coordination.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

- All buildings and camps are smoke/electronic/tobacco and vapor-free facilities.

PAY AMOUNT: $1,500 One-Time Grant Stipend Payment
TIMELINE: August 1st, 2026 - May 31st, 2027.
