Position Description: Terminal Manager – Drayage Operations
Lead Port Operations. Drive Performance. Build Teams.

SalSon Logistics is seeking an experienced Terminal Manager - Drayage Operations to lead daily terminal activities in a fast-paced port and transportation environment. This position is responsible for overseeing drivers, dispatch, customer service, safety, equipment utilization, and operational performance while ensuring exceptional service to our customers.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong drayage, port, transportation, and employee management experience who can drive results while maintaining a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily terminal operations, including drayage, dispatch, customer service, and driver management.
• Manage a fleet of CDL drivers servicing ports, rail yards, warehouses, and customer facilities.
• Ensure operational efficiency, productivity, and service performance.
• Monitor driver utilization, container movement, turn times, and revenue performance.
• Collaborate with Safety, Maintenance, HR, and Payroll departments to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
• Maintain DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety standards.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and service failures while implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and coach supervisors, dispatchers, and support staff.
• Manage staffing levels, scheduling, hiring, training, and employee development.
• Build strong relationships with customers, steamship lines, port authorities, and business partners.
• Analyze operational KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Control operating costs while maximizing service levels and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of transportation, logistics, or drayage management experience.
• Previous experience managing port operations, container transportation, or intermodal freight.
• Strong leadership and employee development skills.
• Experience managing dispatch, drivers, and terminal personnel.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and safety compliance.
• Ability to analyze operational metrics and drive performance improvements.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with TMS platforms, transportation software, and reporting systems preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
