About the Role:
The Shop Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing daily operations within a retail or service shop environment to ensure efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for managing staff, coordinating workflow, and maintaining inventory levels to meet business objectives. The Shop Supervisor acts as a liaison between management and employees, fostering a positive work environment and addressing any operational challenges promptly. They ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while striving to improve processes and enhance overall shop performance. Ultimately, the Shop Supervisor drives the success of the shop by balancing operational demands with excellent customer service and team leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a retail or service environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and basic financial principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
- Certification in workplace safety or first aid.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Previous experience in customer service management.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of shop staff to ensure smooth operations and high productivity.
- Manage scheduling, attendance, and performance of employees, providing coaching and feedback as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper stock management to avoid shortages or excess.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with management to implement policies, procedures, and promotional activities.
- Prepare reports on shop performance, including sales, inventory, and staff productivity metrics.
