- Lead, mentor, and provide day-to-day direction to a field reimbursement team, ensuring accurate, compliant, and effective support related to billing, coding, coverage, and payment processes.
- Develop and implement reimbursement support strategies, tools, and operational processes that improve patient access and address reimbursement challenges across healthcare settings.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to strengthen reimbursement capabilities and support broader commercial objectives.
- Establish reporting systems and performance tracking mechanisms to monitor account activity, claims progress, and reimbursement outcomes.
- Oversee the development and delivery of reimbursement education programs, ensuring consistent and effective training for customers and internal teams.
- Identify reimbursement barriers affecting provider adoption and create practical, solution-oriented resources to overcome challenges.
- Analyze and resolve coverage, coding, payment, and revenue cycle issues impacting hospitals and physicians while implementing corrective action plans.
- Support reimbursement-related presentations and discussions with executives, physicians, administrators, finance leaders, compliance teams, and contracting stakeholders.
- Ensure all field activities comply with applicable regulations, corporate policies, and industry standards.
- Travel as required to customer sites, meetings, training events, conferences, and trade shows to support reimbursement initiatives and organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of field reimbursement management experience, including expertise in hospital medical device reimbursement, revenue cycle management, physician payment systems, coding methodologies, and payer reimbursement models.
- Strong understanding of Category III and Category I CPT codes, ICD-10 coding systems, Medicare reimbursement frameworks, private payer processes, hospital billing operations, chargemaster structures, and payer contracting.
- Previous experience supporting emerging healthcare technologies or innovative treatment platforms; oncology experience is advantageous.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience managing teams, setting priorities, and driving accountability across multiple initiatives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health economics, reimbursement strategy, coverage determination, coding, payment pathways, and market adoption considerations for new technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex reimbursement challenges and develop effective, scalable solutions.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the adaptability required to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced growth environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, conflict-resolution, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, hospital executives, administrators, finance stakeholders, and key opinion leaders.
