Staff Technical Program Manager, AI

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager, AI based in the United States.

This role sits at the center of an AI-first engineering organization, driving the delivery of complex, cross-functional technical programs that power next-generation AI systems and platforms.
You will operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and machine learning, ensuring AI-driven initiatives are delivered with clarity, speed, and operational excellence.
The role is highly strategic, shaping how agentic and AI-assisted systems are built, integrated, and scaled across the organization.
You will lead large, multi-team programs spanning infrastructure, AI workflows, and production systems with significant business impact.
A key part of your mission is to enable reliable, scalable AI operations while maintaining strong technical rigor and execution discipline.
You will work closely with senior engineering and product leaders in a fast-moving, remote-first environment where autonomy and ownership are essential.
This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys turning emerging AI capabilities into production-ready systems.

Accountabilities:

You will lead the end-to-end execution of highly complex, cross-functional AI and technical programs, ensuring alignment across engineering, product, and operations teams. You will also define structure, governance, and delivery frameworks for emerging AI-native workflows.

  • Drive large-scale AI and technical programs from planning through delivery, coordinating multiple engineering and product teams across time zones.
  • Support the transition toward agentic and AI-first SDLC practices across development, testing, deployment, and operations.
  • Design and manage cross-system integrations and AI workflows, ensuring reliability and interoperability across platforms and services.
  • Partner with AI/ML and engineering teams to define operational readiness standards, escalation paths, and incident response procedures.
  • Establish program tracking, metrics, and reporting frameworks to monitor delivery health, risk, and performance.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks early and communicate mitigation strategies clearly to stakeholders and executives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in technical program management practices, tooling, and delivery processes.
  • Enable AI-enabled execution by embedding automation, agent workflows, and intelligent tooling into program operations.
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings deep technical program management experience combined with strong familiarity in AI/ML systems and modern software delivery environments. You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and influencing across technical and business teams.

  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Engineering Management, or similar roles in high-growth tech environments.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, including model lifecycle, data pipelines, and agentic or LLM-based systems.
  • Experience delivering large-scale, cross-functional technical programs spanning multiple engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered workflows and tools that improve engineering velocity, automation, or operational efficiency.
  • Strong technical fluency with software development tools (e.g., GitHub, CI/CD systems) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proven ability to manage risk, dependencies, and program complexity in distributed, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical complexity into clear executive-level narratives.
  • Strong systems thinking, execution discipline, and a builder mindset focused on scalable, reliable solutions.
  • Experience working with AI-driven systems or production ML environments is highly preferred.
Benefits
  • Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus eligibility
  • Equity package included in total compensation
  • Fully remote work environment within the United States
  • Flexible vacation and work scheduling
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, vision, life insurance)
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Learning and development support, including training and upskilling opportunities
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and agentic systems at scale
  • Inclusive, high-ownership culture focused on impact and innovation.
