NP Mechanical, Inc. is a 100% Employee-Owned ESOP - long term retirement plan.

This position requires working in person, with a standard schedule M-F from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The schedule is subject to change with the approval of direct supervisor.

We are seeking a HVAC Service Technician to join our team!

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and malfunctions.
  3. Repair or replace defective equipment components, electrical wiring, and controls.
  4. Install new HVAC systems and ensure they meet code requirements and specifications.
  5. Calibrate and test system functionality and efficiency.
  6. Provide customers with technical advice and proper system operation guidance.
  7. Maintain accurate records of services performed and materials used.
  8. Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
  9. Respond promptly to emergency service requests and after-hours calls.
  10. Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure optimal service delivery.
  11. Keep abreast of new technologies and techniques in the HVAC industry.
  12. Manage inventory of parts and tools, ensuring availability for service calls.
  13. Prepare and submit detailed service reports and job completion paperwork.
  14. Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
  15. Participate in ongoing training and development programs.

Position Requirements

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification in HVAC preferred
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in HVAC service and maintenance
  3. Valid HVAC technician certification (e.g., EPA 608)
  4. Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  5. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance
  6. Familiarity with HVAC tools and equipment, including testing devices
  7. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC issues effectively
  8. Knowledge of safety standards and procedures related to HVAC systems
  9. Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
  10. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  11. Excellent customer service and communication skills
  12. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  13. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  14. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
