Location: Great Falls, Montana
Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary: $205,000–$235,000 annually, DOE/DOQ

We are seeking an experienced physician leader to serve as our Medical Director. This unique opportunity allows you to continue practicing medicine while providing strategic leadership for our medical division. Approximately 70% of your time will be dedicated to direct patient care, while 30% will focus on clinical leadership, quality improvement, provider support, and organizational strategy. This position provides oversight of our three medical clinic locations and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

What You'll DoClinical Leadership
  • Provide clinical leadership and strategic direction for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants across three clinic locations.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to advance organizational goals and improve patient outcomes.
  • Partner with the Behavioral Health Director and Dental Director to promote integrated, whole-person care.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and the development of evidence-based clinical protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, accreditation, and FQHC regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee provider credentialing, licensing, professional evaluations, and clinical standards.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Clinical Director and Clinical Manager to ensure provider success and efficient clinic operations.
  • Advise executive leadership on clinical workflows, capacity planning, and medical equipment needs.
Patient Care
  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across designated clinic sites.
  • Maintain an active patient panel while managing acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care in a collaborative environment.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation, coding, and chart completion within the electronic health record (EHR).
QualificationsRequired
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or another primary care specialty.
  • Eligible for unrestricted Montana medical licensure and DEA registration.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical practice experience.
  • Previous physician leadership experience, such as Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Department Chair, or similar leadership role.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
  • Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
  • Multi-site clinic leadership experience.
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives and provider development.
