This role provides the opportunity to support authors and researchers by delivering high-quality operational assistance within a global publishing environment. The successful candidate will manage author communications, resolve service requests, and ensure smooth journal operations through efficient processes and stakeholder collaboration. You will work across multiple systems and platforms while contributing to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. The Advisor – Journal Operations will be responsible for managing operational workflows, supporting authors, and ensuring timely, accurate, and professional service delivery while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage Journal Operations inboxes and respond to author inquiries with accuracy, professionalism, and a strong customer-focused approach.
- Ensure service level agreements (SLAs), productivity targets, and quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Investigate and resolve queries using multiple systems and platforms, including journal management and operational tools.
- Develop and improve response templates, knowledge resources, and support materials to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Prepare and maintain daily productivity and performance reports.
- Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and improvement of internal and external knowledge base content.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with global teams to ensure effective workflow management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and team discussions to strengthen operational knowledge and capabilities.
- Continuously develop expertise in relevant business processes, systems, and industry practices.
The ideal candidate is a customer-focused professional with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in any discipline.

- Up to 1–2 years of experience in customer service, publishing operations, journal operations, or similar process-driven environments is preferred but not required.
- Experience handling email-based customer support or operational workflows is an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear and professional responses.
- Excellent organizational skills, time management abilities, and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and identify appropriate solutions.
- Ability to prioritize workloads effectively while maintaining accountability for deliverables.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; advanced Excel skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with systems such as ScholarOne, STS, SMARTJ, A2R, or similar platforms is desirable.
