About the RoleThe Warehouse Receiver is responsible for processing all incoming materials into inventory accurately and efficiently. This role is critical to maintaining smooth warehouse operations, ensuring product quality, and supporting our purchasing and quality departments.
Essential Responsibilities- Receive delivery trucks at the dock (top priority)
- Inspect trucks and incoming materials for hazards or damage; complete all required documentation
- Re-stack and organize pallets, grouping like products together
- Verify product identification and weight
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Quality departments to ensure receiving accuracy
- Enter received product into inventory and quality databases (approx. 1 minute per ID)
- Scan and upload all receiving paperwork to the server daily
- Properly label all materials
- Communicate receiving holds to the Purchasing department promptly
- Complete all receiving tasks and submit receivers by end of shift
- Support librarian duties as needed
- Assist with cycle counting
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness (sweeping, stacking pallets, wiping down surfaces)
- Provide administrative support as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED, plus 3–6 months of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals)
- Ability to apply common-sense judgment to carry out detailed instructions and resolve routine problems
- English proficiency required
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and use of hands for fine and gross motor tasks
- Occasional climbing or balancing
- Ability to converse and listen effectively
- Ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly
- Visual acuity requirements: near and far vision, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision
