This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Platform Architect - Microsoft Azure Fabric (Immediate Joiner) based in India.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Platform Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure Fabric to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of a modern enterprise data platform. This is a hands-on remote opportunity for a technical leader who thrives on building scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud data solutions. You will shape the architecture of a unified data ecosystem while establishing DevOps best practices, governance frameworks, and automation strategies that enable reliable software delivery. Working closely with engineering teams, analysts, and business stakeholders, you will drive platform modernization initiatives, mentor technical teams, and ensure operational excellence across the data landscape. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by defining technical direction and delivering enterprise-scale solutions using the latest Microsoft data technologies.
- Design, implement, and own the end-to-end Microsoft Fabric architecture, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Real-Time Analytics, and Power BI environments.
- Develop and maintain scalable DevOps practices, including Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, environment promotion, infrastructure as code, and automated deployment strategies.
- Establish governance, security, and compliance standards by implementing workspace permissions, access controls, data protection policies, and integration with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Optimize platform performance through capacity planning, workload monitoring, cost management, observability, and proactive incident response.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize development practices, reusable templates, and engineering best practices across all Microsoft Fabric workloads.
- Lead migration initiatives from legacy data platforms to Microsoft Fabric while providing technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural guidance to engineering teams.
- 8+ years of experience in data platform architecture, cloud infrastructure, DevOps engineering, or related senior technical roles.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, or extensive expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI with strong Microsoft Fabric capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of OneLake, Lakehouse and Warehouse architectures, Delta Lake, Parquet, and medallion architecture design principles.
- Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, along with Infrastructure as Code solutions such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Fabric security, governance, identity management, and enterprise data protection practices.
- Hands-on experience with PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, T-SQL, KQL, or similar technologies used for data engineering and analytics.
- Experience with platform monitoring, performance optimization, cost governance, and enterprise-scale cloud operations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
- Microsoft certifications such as DP-600, DP-203, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert are advantageous, along with experience in modern data architecture or regulated industries.
