Overview
The successful candidate must be able to manage up to five (5) trade foreman and seventy-five (75) tradesmen. Provide daily direction and technical assistance to their foremen and hourly personnel. Manage the performance of their groups for safety, quality, cost and schedule performance as well as promoting and implementing process improvements. Be responsible for the administration and execution of associated work paper (i.e. SWSS, TGI's, ER's, UNSATS, Test Forms, NCRs, etc.) Support area SUPT's where trade expertise is required. Daily communication with the Navy to coordinate trade work assignments around their schedule with area SUPT's, support ship's meetings and be responsible for trade commitments. Take responsibility for mentoring new foremen. Ensure foremen and tradesmen have the necessary training requirements to perform their job assignments and ensure all procedures/documents are adhered to. Candidate must be willing to work all shifts and overtime as required.
Responsibilities
- Must possess interpersonal skills and effective written and oral communication skills
- Must have proficiency with the following computer skills - Outlook, EWP, AWPPS, Excel, Word
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in trades, manufacturing and/or the military
- 3+ years of experience in trades, manufacturing, and/or the military
- Experience with planning, construction, manpower and testing activities
- Experience with blueprint reading
Preferred:
- BS in Engineering
- Experience with welding, shipfitting, and/or grinding
- Experience with management tools (i.e., MRP, Artemis, EWP or other EB specific tools)
