Job Description
This position reports into San Francisco but serves the greater Los Angeles area and requires an employee to travel within that geography on a regular basis.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing and Partnerships Specialist owns execution and coordination across GCC's marketing, content, referral development, community engagement, and growth initiatives. This role exercises independent judgment and discretion in planning content, prioritizing referral outreach, and managing partner relationships within the brand, compliance, and budget guidelines set by the Marketing Operations Manager, and is expected to identify problems and recommend solutions rather than simply executing pre-defined tasks. The position works cross-functionally with the marketing team, clinical staff, referral partners, community organizations, and outside vendors, and regularly represents GCC's marketing function in interactions with external stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Independently plans and coordinates marketing projects, timelines, and day-to-day execution across the marketing team's initiatives, exercising judgment to prioritize competing deadlines.
• Develops and manages content planning, scheduling, and publishing across marketing and social media channels, using discretion to select content and messaging consistent with brand and compliance standards.
• Coordinates surgeon content, photography, and video shoots, and evaluates and manages Before & After assets, patient testimonials, and related consent and approval documentation, exercising judgment on which materials meet brand and compliance standards.
• Leads referral outreach planning, referral partner visits, and development of educational materials; maintains and evaluates referral partner relationships, contact information, and outreach activity to identify and act on growth opportunities.
• Plans and oversees community events, educational programs, sponsorships, and on-site event logistics, making independent decisions on vendor selection and event execution within budget.
• Directs the development of marketing collateral and print materials, oversees website content updates, maintains marketing asset libraries, and manages relationships with design, photography, and video vendors.
• Analyzes and reports on marketing activities, referral engagement, and project outcomes, and recommends adjustments to improve results.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance sufficient to meet the position's operational, patient-service, and team obligations, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Complies with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation requirements, privacy and security standards (including HIPAA, where applicable), and organizational policies relevant to the position.
The essential functions listed are intended to describe the fundamental duties of the position. A qualified individual must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodation. The organization will engage in a timely, good-faith interactive process when an accommodation is requested or the need for accommodation is known.
MARGINAL / OCCASIONAL FUNCTIONS
• Supports new-market launch activities, local partnerships, and community outreach as new locations develop.
• Assists with basic photo/video editing for social media when vendor support is unavailable.
• Supports other marketing, community outreach, or growth projects as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, public relations, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in marketing, communications, partnerships, community outreach, or business development, including experience independently managing marketing projects, content, events, or external partnerships with minimal day-to-day oversight.
• Licensure/Certification: None required.
• Knowledge/Skills: Ability to independently plan and manage social media, content calendars, and email or digital marketing activities; ability to evaluate and prioritize referral outreach and partner relationships; strong organizational and analytical skills; clear written and verbal communication with internal teams, partners, and vendors; sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive patient content (e.g., testimonials, Before & After images) in compliance with consent and privacy requirements.
• Other: Reliable local transportation for occasional event and partner-visit support; ability to lift and carry event/marketing materials weighing up to approximately 25 pounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working with referral partners, community organizations, providers, or other external stakeholders.
• Experience independently leading events, educational programs, sponsorships, or outreach activities.
• Healthcare, physician practice, specialty care, nonprofit, community health, or other mission-driven experience.
• Experience supporting photography, video, and editing for social media.
