Shift: 3pm-11pm
Days Off: Sunday/Monday
What you'll be responsible for:
• Installs, programs, maintains, and troubleshoots Direct Digital Control (DDC) Building Automation Systems (BAS) hardware and software. Maintains certification as a Schneider Electric (Continuum and EcoStruxure Building Operation) programmer, or equivalent.
• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs commercial and industrial HVAC, refrigeration, building automation, smoke control, airflow monitoring, static pressure, and related control systems in accordance with engineering specifications and design documents.
• Diagnoses and repairs complex electronic and digital control system malfunctions. Tests, programs, and modifies system software and control sequences across multiple programming platforms to optimize system performance.
• Programs, schedules, monitors, and optimizes Building Automation Systems to support facility operations and energy efficiency. Responds to system alarms and HVAC-related emergencies as required, including evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Mentors HVAC Technicians in building automation systems and supports certification efforts. Coaches and trains maintenance staff on mechanical equipment, controls, and best maintenance practices.
• Coordinates contractor activities and serves as the primary HVAC and Building Automation Systems liaison between contractors and Prairie Meadows. Assists Facilities Management with the planning and administration of a five-year HVAC Capital Improvement Program and provides recommendations for system improvements and future facility needs.
• Maintains accurate system backups, engineering documentation, AutoCAD (or other PMRC-approved design software) drawings, and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) records in compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Procures materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for maintenance, repairs, and capital projects. Evaluates and recommends new technologies, upgraded equipment, and process improvements that enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Communicates effectively with Facilities Management, maintenance staff, contractors, vendors, and other departments to promote safe, efficient operations and positive working relationships.
• Complies with OSHA regulations, EPA guidelines, applicable building and fire codes, local municipal codes, and all Prairie Meadows safety policies and procedures.
• Utilizes assigned communication devices, including radios and/or cell phones, and responds appropriately to operational needs and emergency situations.
• Assists with other maintenance responsibilities and performs additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent with two-year college Associates Degree or equivalent trade certification and specialized training in the field. Five years DDC experience required. Must have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and must meet company insurance requirements. Must have Universal CFC certification. Must have certification/licensure in Refrigeration, Hydronics and HVAC in the State of Iowa or if licensed in another state, able to obtain certification/license in Iowa in a reasonable timeframe.
