Rising 16 stories above the city with 263 rooms, our hotels have views stretching from Coronado to Point Loma to La Jolla, plus a rooftop bar and pool that will be one of downtown's hottest spots. Position Summary: Picture your office: sunshine, ocean breezes, and some of the best views in San Diego. As a Rooftop Bartender on our 16th floor, you'll set the vibe for one of downtown's newest hangouts. You'll keep drinks moving, conversation flowing, and make sure our guests are relaxed and having a great time, whether they're sitting at the bar, lounging poolside or catching the sunset with friends. You bring Tru spirit, energy and great service - let the view do the rest.
What You Will Do:
- Bring an upbeat and friendly attitude to all guest interactions and proactively look for ways to make their experience special
- Mix, garnish, and serve drinks according to recipe standards, ensuring accuracy and satisfaction
- Stock and organize bar supplies, including beverages, glassware, and perishables, for seamless service
- Use the point-of-sale system to correctly handle cash, credit/debit cards, gift certificates, and vouchers
- Manage inventory and ensure the freshness and quality of all beverage-related items
- Manage situations involving intoxicated guests with care and respect, ensuring a safe environment
- Promote teamwork with Bar Servers and assist servicing guests beyond the bar area
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member well-being
- Perform other duties as assigned by hotel leadership.

- 3 Years bartending experience
- Hotel experience a plus
- An outgoing, friendly personality and a love for taking care of people
- Solid knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits
- Confidence recommending items and creating a great guest experience
- Clear communication and strong people skills
- Ability to stay calm, organized, and quick on your feet when it's busy
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and tact
- Comfort working outdoors in variable weather conditions, including sun and heat
- Standing and walking for a full shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20–25 pounds
- Occasional bending, reaching, and stooping
- Frequent use of hands and fingers
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- A team-first attitude
- Must be at least 21 years old
- California Food Handler Card and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification, or the ability to obtain them within the timeframes required by state law
- Other duties as requested by management
