Job Description

Principal Product Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Product Manager based in Canada.

The Principal Product Manager will lead product strategy for a key area of an enterprise SaaS platform, translating emerging market trends into impactful product innovations and measurable business results. You will define multi-quarter roadmaps, guide platform and API decisions, and help shape pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategies. Working closely with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success, you will ensure product decisions are grounded in customer insights, data, and business priorities. Beyond owning strategic initiatives, you will mentor product managers and strengthen the frameworks and practices that drive effective product development. This role is ideal for an experienced product leader who combines commercial acumen with technical understanding and thrives in a collaborative, fast-growing environment. You will also explore how AI-powered search, knowledge graphs, and agentic technologies are transforming how enterprises manage their digital presence and connect with customers.

Accountabilities
  • Define and drive the multi-quarter product strategy and roadmap for a major product line, translating developments in AI search, answer engines, and agentic technologies into clear product opportunities and priorities.

  • Make informed product trade-offs using customer feedback, product usage data, market insights, and expected business impact, with accountability for measurable outcomes such as adoption, retention, and revenue.

  • Lead decisions related to platform capabilities, integrations, APIs, and product packaging, ensuring solutions are accessible, valuable, and scalable for enterprise customers and partners.

  • Collaborate with leadership on pricing and packaging strategies that support customer acquisition, adoption, and expansion.

  • Coach and mentor product managers, including a PM-in-training, providing regular feedback and helping strengthen product management capabilities across the team.

  • Contribute to the evolution of product development practices, including roadmap planning, prioritization, and go-to-market frameworks, keeping processes practical and effective.

  • Lead customer discovery with enterprise clients and prospects, represent product strategy and roadmaps in executive-level conversations, and incorporate customer insights into product decisions.

  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to develop product positioning, coordinate launches, enable customer-facing teams, and monitor adoption and business performance.

  • Apply AI copilots and agentic tools to improve productivity and decision-making, using sound judgment to validate outputs and assess their reliability.

  • Develop and communicate a strong perspective on how AI answer engines and agents retrieve, interpret, and act on structured content, and translate these insights into product opportunities.

Requirements:
  • 8+ years of product management experience, including substantial hands-on experience building and scaling B2B SaaS products.

  • Demonstrated ownership of product strategy or a product line across multiple quarters, with evidence of shipped products and measurable results in areas such as adoption, retention, or revenue.

  • Proven experience coaching and mentoring product managers, including supporting the development of junior or early-career professionals.

  • Experience in pricing and packaging, platform products, integrations, or APIs, with the ability to shape how products are delivered, adopted, and monetized.

  • Strong executive presence and experience leading discovery, roadmap discussions, and strategic conversations with senior stakeholders at enterprise organizations.

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with Engineering and go-to-market teams, including Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success.

  • A data-informed approach to product management, using customer behavior, usage trends, and performance metrics to establish priorities and measure outcomes.

  • Sufficient technical understanding to discuss architecture, feasibility, platform design, and engineering trade-offs effectively with technical teams.

  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, prioritization, and decision-making skills, with the ability to turn ambiguity into clear direction and actionable plans.

  • Nice to have: Experience with AI, semantic web technologies, knowledge graphs, data platforms, large language models, AI search products, schema.org, structured data, RDF, or linked data.

  • Familiarity with SEO, marketing technology, content platforms, or answer-engine optimization (AEO).

  • Experience introducing or scaling product frameworks or communities of practice across teams.

  • Experience supporting customer-facing webinars, product launches, enablement, or go-to-market programs.

  • A technical background in computer science, engineering, software development, solutions, or analytics is an advantage.

  • Experience in a startup or scale-up environment where building effective processes and improving execution discipline are important.

  • A growth mindset, resourcefulness, humility, and a collaborative approach to working with customers and colleagues.

Benefits:
  • Annual salary: CAD $135,000–$150,000, depending on experience.

  • Remote work: Full-time remote opportunity within Canada, with a distributed team.

  • Health and wellness coverage: Benefits begin on the first day of employment.

  • Retirement savings: RRSP matching program.

  • Time off: Flexible days in addition to vacation days, plus a day off on your birthday.

  • Professional development: Weekly one-on-one conversations focused on career growth and development.

  • Team connection: Virtual events and activities designed to strengthen relationships across the distributed team.

  • Inclusive culture: A collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives, continuous learning, and shared ownership.

  • Meaningful impact: The opportunity to influence enterprise product strategy and help shape emerging AI-driven search and digital experiences.
