Accountabilities

In this role, you will support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of cloud-hosted database systems while ensuring high availability and data integrity. You will assist in automation efforts, performance monitoring, and secure database administration in AWS environments.

Support backup, restore, and recovery processes to ensure data continuity and protection
Administer and maintain relational databases including Db2 and other systems such as Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
Monitor database health, troubleshoot performance issues, and assist in tuning and optimization efforts
Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools such as Bash, Python, or Perl
Support ETL workflows, data pipelines, and data modeling initiatives
Work in Linux/UNIX environments to manage daily database operations

Implement and maintain database security controls, access policies, and compliance requirements

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings solid hands-on experience in database administration within cloud or hybrid environments, with a strong focus on AWS and Db2 systems. You are comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively across technical teams.

5+ years of professional experience as an AWS DBA or Cloud DBA, including Db2
Active Secret clearance or higher (required) and U.S. citizenship (mandatory)
Strong experience with relational databases such as Db2, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
Solid understanding of AWS and cloud infrastructure concepts
Experience with Linux/UNIX environments and system operations
Ability to write and maintain scripts for automation and administration tasks
Familiarity with database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and data modeling principles
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and in teams
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and operational discipline
