This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr Systems Engineer in India.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of enterprise Windows-based infrastructure in a complex, always-on environment. You will manage and optimize Windows Server ecosystems, Active Directory, and hybrid cloud integrations while supporting critical business operations. The position requires strong hands-on expertise in system administration, security enforcement, and infrastructure troubleshooting. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional IT teams to deliver reliable and scalable services. This is a highly technical role where automation, performance tuning, and proactive monitoring are key to success. You will also contribute to infrastructure projects, operational improvements, and system modernization initiatives.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and evolving enterprise server and identity infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
- Administer, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022), including core services such as DNS, DHCP, file, and print services.
- Manage Active Directory infrastructure, including domains, forests, trusts, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and hybrid Azure Active Directory integrations.
- Implement security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), identity management, patching, auditing, and vulnerability remediation.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies while ensuring system reliability and minimal downtime.
- Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident resolution using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Develop documentation, runbooks, and operational standards while providing reporting on system health, incidents, and compliance.
- Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects and provide guidance or mentorship to junior engineers when required.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in Windows infrastructure administration with a focus on Active Directory and enterprise system operations.
- 5–7+ years of experience in Windows Server administration and enterprise IT environments.
- Strong expertise in Active Directory management, including GPOs, identity governance, and hybrid AD/Azure AD environments.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2012 and above), networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V or VMware.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and operational efficiency.
- Experience with security frameworks including MFA, PKI, access control, and system hardening.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS in hybrid infrastructure setups.
- Exposure to backup tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault), monitoring solutions (e.g., System Center), and ITIL practices is preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (Azure Administrator, MCSA/MCSE or equivalent) are a plus.
