Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and skilled in operating powered industrial equipment in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule: 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Monday - Friday, Saturday's required during peak season)
Summary
Operates forklift in a high-pedestrian area to safely transport items from incoming staging area to production lines.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Operates forklift to safely deliver correct containers and caps to production line and return unused containers and caps to warehouse.
- Operates forklift always at a reasonable and prudent speed, watching closely for pedestrians or other motorized vehicles.
- Maintains accurate record of containers and caps moved.
- Supplies production with empty pallets.
- Returns all unused caps and containers to the storage area, seals and wraps all open cartons of caps.
- Helps cut plastic and straps from wrapped pallets.
- Completes Pre-Operational Checklist each day before operating lift. Reports all forklift damage or malfunction to supervisor.
- Follows safety rules and company policies.
Other Duties
- Keeps glass and cap storage area in warehouse in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
- Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.
High school graduate or equivalent preferred. A minimum of 6 months experience operating a forklift required. Ability to read and write in English needed. Basic understanding of addition, subtraction, and the multiplication table required.

Forklift, Stretch Wrap Machine, Calculator, Air Hose, Knife.
Physical Demands
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady forces in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound.
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is related for light work.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment
Work Environment
Works inside, subject to some seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetting from some job tasks. Fumes from hot pepper and forklifts. Earplugs required because of irritating machinery noise. Some contact with grease. Head cover and beard cover required.
